One of the typical nesting spots for wasps is on the soffit and fascia of a home. This gives it protection from the elements and plenty of surface area to adhere to.

Since it is generally up and out of the standard sight lines they can quickly become large and dangerous. There isn't an effective method of preventing wasps in Ontario so it's best to identify the nest while it's still small and less threatening. You don't need years of Pest Control experience for this, just walk around your home and look up at the soffits and fascia. Keep an eye out for insects flying consistently to the same spot or for the more obvious nests like this one!
